Exploring Futures at the 4th XR & Metaverse Fair Tokyo
I attended the 4th XR & Metaverse Fair Tokyo for two days, exploring how immersive technologies are being showcased, imagined, and marketed across East Asia. From AI-generated avatars to virtual dining experiences, the fair featured everything from speculative concepts to polished platforms. I also had the opportunity to interview several exhibitors and hear firsthand how they envision the future of XR and the Metaverse.
I left wondering: what would the world look like if all these technologies became widespread? What would it mean to join a company that meets only in a Metaverse office? Or to train as a nurse in virtual reality? Or to be an animator whose canvas extends far beyond the rectangular screen?
