New Initiative! Organizing a Conference for Women Researching Society x Tech

I’m co-organizing a new student-led academic conference at ICU: the Young Female Researcher Conference (YFRC 2026)! The event will bring together female graduate students researching emerging technologies from a social science perspective. Alongside the conference, we’ll host a series of workshops to help participants develop academic presentation, networking, and public speaking skills.

This initiative actually began as a conversation between me and my co-organizers about how rare it is to see women presenting in tech-related academic spaces, and how intimidating those spaces can feel went you are a young researcher. We wanted to open a space for women like us: to make our work visible, build confidence, and connect with others navigating similar research paths.

It proudly aligns with SDG 5: Gender Equality, and I couldn’t be more excited to help make it happen!
